How WYDE Civic Engagement Advocates on Youth Political Participation
The Youth Democracy Cohort (YDC) supports youth inclusion in Political Affairs through three key initiatives:

The Youth Democracy Cohort launched a call for proposals to support member organisations with their advocacy efforts. Nine organisations received Advocacy Grants.
The Menu of Possible Commitments is a set of 33 actionable recommendations designed to enhance youth civic and political participation. Developed through a global consultation with democracy support organisations and youth representatives, it provides governments with concrete steps to strengthen youth rights and engagement.
The Youth Participation Handbook showcases successful initiatives that have empowered young people to participate meaningfully in democracy support. By highlighting effective projects, it serves as a resource for replicating and scaling impactful youth-led efforts.

The Youth Democracy Cohort is committed to advancing youth political participation at the national and local level. Through its collaboration with OGP, the YDC amplifies youth voices in the development of National Action Plans, making sure young people’s priorities inform decision-making and governance reforms.
