The GenZ-Led Monitoring of the Nepal Election 2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Accountability Lab Nepal<\/strong> engages young leaders in fostering accountability, transparency, and open governance at the local and national levels. Through innovative initiatives and diverse communication channels, the organisation bridges gaps between communities and government, reshaping narratives and empowering youth for democratic change.Highlights from the Journey<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Nepal, recent youth-led protests have highlighted growing distrust in political institutions and strong demands for governance reform. As the March 2026 elections approach, risks such as misinformation, increased digital campaigning, and limited monitoring capacity threaten electoral credibility. Traditional observation methods are not fully equipped to address these evolving challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objectives of the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The GenZ-Led Monitoring of the Nepal Election 2026 project, led by Accountability Lab Nepal, aims to engage young people as active election monitors. It will train 15 young people to track online political communication, counter misinformation, and monitor compliance with electoral and environmental standards. The project also partners with domestic election observer networks to strengthen coordination and trains their youth observers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expected Outcome<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project will enhance electoral transparency and public trust by introducing innovative monitoring approaches. It will empower youth participation in democratic processes, improve access to reliable information, and strengthen collaboration among civil society actors, contributing to a more credible and inclusive electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15 Young election monitors have been trained. All of them expressed willingness to continue their engagement through policy participation, local activism, and in their own future projects that promote transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
