An author and aspiring social scientist, Dechen is invested and interested in social and political sciences. With countryside roots, formal education including stints in Spain and the United Kingdom opened Dechen\u2019s door to understanding public affairs beyond his native village of 11 households. Rural upbringing vis-\u00e0-vis educational and professional experiences place Dechen in a position to situate Bhutan\u2019s public policy challenges such as rural-urban migration, regional inequality, and inter-generational value differences in Bhutan\u2019s development trajectory.
