Gomin has over 10 years of experience in development work in Guyana, at the grassroots and policy levels, with a focus on project management and fostering multi-stakeholder cooperation in Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, she accumulated extensive knowledge and built robust networks across a wide range of sectors, including the extractives industry, financial transparency, the environment and youth development, public diplomacy, and international relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout her professional career, she has challenged gender stereotypes and held several leadership roles at a young age, including Head of Public Diplomacy within the Foreign Ministry and Founder and Director of Guyana Environment Initiative, an environmental education organization led by women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In every task she takes on, her variety of experience and knowledge clearly demonstrate her passion for Guyana’s development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Youth Political Participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0The more we educate young people about their differences and empower them in political participation, the better equipped they become to embrace diversity. Intolerance often stems from a lack of understanding, making education a crucial tool in combating discrimination based on religion or race among youth.\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The WYDE Civic Engagement<\/strong> Network of Young Decision-Makers<\/a><\/strong> unites young leaders under 36 years old who are active in politics and decision-making roles, aiming to enhance youth political participation. Members, hailing from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, will collaborate with peers and Club de Madrid Members to shape global agendas through Policy Labs, fostering informed collective action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WYDE Civic Engagement project <\/strong>is a component of the Women and Youth in Democracy Initiative (WYDE) by the European Commission. The project aims to empower youth voices, foster international cooperation, and address the gaps in evidence on youth political engagement. <\/strong>More info on the project can be found on EPD’s website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
