Nathaniel is a political leader, social justice advocate, generational leader, and philanthropist currently serving as the Speaker of the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association (KYPA). He previously served as an Advisor of Investments and Economic Affairs for the Governor of Nyamira County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016, Nathaniel started his political career as a grassroots mobiliser for Amani National Congress (ANC), which is Kenya\u2019s 3rd largest political party and part of the ruling coalition. He rose to the position of Director of ICT and Programs for the party and the 2022 presidential campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a champion of youth advocacy, he advocated on the Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC) to amend Kenya’s Political Parties Act 2011, aiming to enhance the representation of youth in Kenya’s Parliament and County Assemblies through increased nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nathaniel holds a Master of Arts degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Strategic Management from Moi University. As part of his professional ambitions, Nathaniel successfully finished Section 6 of the Certified Securities and Investments Analysts (CSIA) program administered by the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examinations Board (KASNEB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He ran for the Member of Parliament for North Mugirango Constituency during the 2022 General Elections and emerged as a runner-up in these contested parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among key national issues for Nathaniel is amending the Tea Act to create fair conditions for tea farmers in Nyamira County and enhancing value addition in agricultural value chains to generate jobs for young people. He represented Kenya and the Global South at COP28 in Dubai as a panelist for \u201cClimate financing and what a just transition means for the Global South\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Nathaniel works with Kenya\u2019s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi, and has ambitions for holding higher political office in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WYDE Civic Engagement<\/strong> Network of Young Decision-Makers<\/a><\/strong> unites young leaders under 36 years old who are active in politics and decision-making roles, aiming to enhance youth political participation. Members, hailing from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, will collaborate with peers and Club de Madrid Members to shape global agendas through Policy Labs, fostering informed collective action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WYDE Civic Engagement project <\/strong>is a component of the Women and Youth in Democracy Initiative (WYDE) by the European Commission.
