Join us for a dynamic session introducing the Global Youth Participation Index (GYPI), the first-ever global tool measuring youth inclusion in civic and political life. Developed by the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) and the Centre for Elections, Democracy, Accountability and Representation (CEDAR) at the University of Birmingham, with input from a diverse Youth Panel, the GYPI offers data-driven insights to close gaps in youth participation and strengthen democratic engagement worldwide.
To begin the conversation, the Youth Democracy Cohort welcomes Nic Cheeseman, professor of democracy at the University of Birmingham and Dr Sarah Pickard, professor and researcher at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. Both Nic and Sarah are core contributors of the Global Youth Participation Index (GYPI). This session will highlight key findings, regional trends, and actionable recommendations. Whether you’re a policymaker, researcher, or youth advocate, this webinar offers valuable tools to support more inclusive democracies.
