
The WYDE Civic Engagement Youth Advisory Board is the highest youth engagement body in the project. Its members are young beneficiaries from our activities, recruited for a one-year mandate to advise the management team, take part in the steering committees with the European Commission and occasionally represent the project in external events.
Gold Ikyiriza is a finalist student at Makerere University Kampala pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a major in Psychology and a minor in Gender Studies and a member of the Youth Advisory Board of the WYDE Civic Engagement project in 2024/2025. She is an eligible leader in Uganda serving as the Vice President of Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) An association that is a voice of students at all levels from Secondary Schools to Universities. Gold is a dynamic leader advocating for inclusive democracy, quality education and gender equality. She believes in justice and is ready to fight hard for it. She dreams of a world full of opportunities for young people that would yield sustainable development. She was selected as the best student of NIMD cohort 1 and effectively participated in different youth spaces in Uganda. Gold is an active youth and is willing to contribute to positive change in the world. In her journey of leadership, she looks forward to growth and development and is eager to learn more.
The Youth Advisory Board is the main component of the youth engagement strategy of the project, ensuring that young people have a say in the implementation of the project.
