Aliya Abass is a Mauritanian journalist, mobile journalism (MOJO) trainer, and content creator. She began her career in 2015 at Sahel TV before joining Télévision Mauritanienne, and has since collaborated with several national and international media outlets. In 2025, she was named Best Content Creator by Empreinte’Art. Le Courrier international also ranked her among the young Mauritanian women to watch.
Committed to high-quality journalism, she is a member of AfricTivistes and AfricTivistes CitizenLab Nouakchott. Through her reporting, training programs, and awareness campaigns, she works to promote human rights, combat misinformation, advance digital citizenship, and uphold women’s rights in Mauritania.
