The OGP Generation project aims to strengthen young people’s civic engagement through digital technology and political dialogue for more open, transparent and inclusive governance in Benin. The project advocates for greater consideration of citizen voices in the implementation of Open Government Partnership commitments.
Activities
Expected results

Training of 30 young people, creation and dissemination of 20 digital contents aiming to reach 10,000 people online, which will improve citizens’ understanding of OGP principles and mobilise new actors around Open Government values.

An official OGP co-validated forum will bring together 200 participants and lead to the adoption of a “Youth and Open Governance” Political Declaration. An advocacy report will be produced, public commitments will be collected, and a citizen monitoring space will be created to ensure implementation of the recommendations.

500 citizens’ proposals will be collected in the five target zones. The analysis of these proposals will result in a synthesis that will be used during the political dialogue. This will support post-forum advocacy and generate useful data for participatory monitoring of OGP commitments.
